Back to Octolabs

Privacy, plainly.

Our games use a name you choose, a room code and a browser session identifier to let you play and reconnect. No account is needed.

Letters & Numbers

Room state and answers are processed on our Cloudflare game service. Browser session storage keeps your connection identifier, chosen name and current draft. Game rooms are temporary and expire after inactivity. Cloudflare may process request and operational logs as our hosting provider.

OctoFlag

Casual OctoFlag quizzes run in your browser. Preferences, personal bests, lifetime correct answers and two-player names stay on the device. Country data and flags are hosted by Octolabs through Cloudflare.

Daily Sprint sends answers to our Cloudflare Worker so it can check timing and calculate scores. A random private browser token identifies your daily best; the database stores its hash. Private run records expire after 30 minutes and are removed by daily cleanup. If you choose “Post my score”, your nickname, rank, score, correct-answer count, elapsed play time and days played become public on the leaderboard. Published scores are retained for up to 90 days before daily cleanup. No account is required; clearing browser storage creates a new identity.

Sharing a challenge includes its seed and game settings, without player names, scores or private tokens. Cloudflare may process normal request and operational logs as our hosting provider.

The Android app

The Android app opens our live Letters & Numbers service in a restricted WebView. It requires internet. Tile taps can trigger the device’s normal touch feedback; this respects Android settings. The app has no advertising SDK, account system, location access or camera access. It does not need Google Play services.

OctoQuiz

OctoQuiz uses temporary room connections through Cloudflare and keeps the host in charge of the game. Player names and answers are shared with people in that room. Some games load public questions or images from external providers, including Open Trivia DB, Wikimedia and flag image services, which receive ordinary web requests.
